The Expectations Project is thrilled to announce that we are joining forces with Kirk Franklin, one of the nation’s leading recording artists, a strong man of faith, and now, education equity advocate.

“All of our children should have the opportunity to get a great education,” said Kirk Franklin in a statement about the partnership, “I’m excited to partner with The Expectations Project to help shed light on education inequality and do my part to support our future leaders.”

In the coming months Kirk and The Expectations Project will be joining forces to elevate the issue of educational inequality in two concrete ways:

1) Omaze Made: Through this special edition “Zip Code ≠ Destiny” t-shirt designed by Kirk Franklin, and platformed by Omaze, to help us rally supporters and raise money to support the work. It’s available here for a limited time (just 16 more days!). So get yours now!

2) Rallying people to join the Hope for Students movement through a special contest we’ll be running this summer where winners will get to attend a special “Zip Code ≠ Destiny” event with Kirk Franklin to shine a light on education inequality in their city.

Through our interactions with Kirk around this opportunity to work together, we’ve learned that he is more than an amazing voice. He’s committed to applying his faith towards justice and passionate about bringing hope for our nation’s most vulnerable students.
